The National and General Collection of more than 4.3 million items covers all disciplines. Since 1952 the library has enjoyed the right to receive, free of charge, a copy of every printed work published in Hungary. The library is a national library with the right and obligation of collecting and preserving these deposit copies. The library also houses an almost complete collection of books printed in Hungary before 1952.

Collection of Books
All the books published in Hungary after 1952 (deposit copies), most of the books published in Hungary before 1952, and the international scientific literature of the disciplines studied at the University.

Collection of Periodicals
Exception: periodicals of economic sciences and law are housed in the Library of the Social Sciences (Kassai Street).
Music Collections (Collection of Music Scores, Collection of LP Recordings, Collection of Tapes, Collection of CDs, Collection of Video Cassettes, Collection of DVDs)

Collection of electronic documents (deposit copies of CD-ROMs and DVDs)

Electronic library
Collection of full text documents and bibliographic databases are accessible via Internet and Intranet.

Usage:
The Book Collection, the Collection of Electronic documents and the current issues of the periodicals are located in the Main Building. The Music Collections can be found in the Kenézy Life Sciences Library. The call number and other data of the documents can be found either in the online catalogue (OPAC) or in the card-catalogue. Documents from the stacks can be ordered by completing an order slip.
