A valid library card is needed for loaning books. The library card is not transferable to any other person.
A patron can only have one copy of a title.
The library card is valid until the end of the academic year. Renewal is only possible if all the books are returned and fines are settled.
The newest and most popular documents and reference books can be found on open shelves. The circulation deadline and the possibility of renewal are determined by the librarian considering the number of copies and its popularity. Single copy books and valuable documents cannot be borrowed.
You can order a book from the stacks electronically with the help of the OPAC, or personally with a call slip, which can be handed in at the reference or circulation desks.
Books can be renewed personally, on the phone, or by E-mail in the same library unit it was loaned from before circulation deadline is over.
Readers must pay an overdue fine if they fail to return books before the deadline. The overdue fine is 40 HUF/day/item, plus the mailing cost of the notification letter (100 HUF).
Circulation and renewal is not possible until a fine is not settled.
Reserved books cannot be renewed. Books on loan can be reserved by patrons.
Upon graduation the Library issues a statement about outstanding debts. In case of unpaid fines, the University suspends the student`s graduation.
